Pubs No More

Some photos of the pubs that are, or were local to me. Some of them are still open, but their life span is limited, some are no longer pubs, converted into shops or used for other purposes. Many people will have their own theory as to why pubs are closing, some say it was the smoking ban, some will say it's the price, others will say change in working patterns/lifestyle, supermarkets etc. I have my own theory, as well as the above, it should also be noted that Birmingham has a high Muslim population; true Muslims don’t drink alcohol, so no need for pubs, hence the closures. It should also be noted that nearly all of these buildings were built for a specific purpose, so once a pub closes, it is unlikely that it will ever re-open as a pub again.
