Birmingham and Beyond

A look at Birmingham, and other places - in photos and text.

My first venture into Website design and construction started in 2010, the reason for it was that I thought that it might just give me an edge in the jobs market. Since I was looking for roles within admin, I could use my website as an extension of my CV, this would then show potential employers that I have a fairly good understanding of technology.

I have since retired and I am no longer seeking employment, so I hear you ask, well why continue with the website, well over the years it became a bit of a hobby, unfortunately for me, personal circumstances during those years have meant that there isn’t as much content on this site as I would like – hopefully that will change over the coming months.

Some of the topics that I have chosen that are local to me are:

Then and Now images, these are older photos of Birmingham locations with a more recent photo (taken by me) of that scene placed together in an ‘over and under’ format.

Pubs No More is a look at the public houses that I used to visit many years ago (mainly around the Small Heath area), that have long since closed down due to lack of customers.

Graffiti art that can be found in and around the Digbeth area of Birmingham, colourful displays created by talented artists, their work is commissioned, and isn’t the unsightly nonsensical scrawl that adorns bus stops and shop front shutters.

There are also photos of some nearby places of interest, such as Aston Hall, Stratford Upon Avon, Lichfield, as well as photos of some of my holidays – scenic views and places of interest.

There is also a little bit more information about me on the ‘About Me’ page, but you don’t have to go there if you don’t want to.

You can use the menu at the top of the page to navigate this site, or click/tap the ‘Sitemap’ button at the bottom of any page.

If you wish to contact me for any reason, then click/tap the ‘Contact Me’ button at the bottom of any page (your default email application will open automatically).

If you arrived on this page from a search engine link, then I hope you find what you are looking for, if not, then hopefully you will find something of interest instead.

There are no adverts on this site, the user is not required to 'log in', there are no 'pop ups', there aren't any location requests, and there are no requests to receive email updates from me - I don't have a schedule for updating anyway.

This site is best viewed on a desktop or laptop computer.
