Blue Street Signs
Street signs in Birmingham City Centre.
As a child, I remember seeing many street signs in Birmingham City Centre that had a blue background, many of them may have been lost due to buildings and roads being demolished, some may now grace garden walls, or sheds, but some are still in situ. For no particular reason, I decided to photograph the ones that I knew about, some look like they have been in place for many years, whilst others look like they have new vinyl backgrounds with sticky back plastic lettering.
As of August 2024, I had counted a total of 25 different blue signs, and one white one that was in the same style as the blue ones - I did find another one outside the City Centre in December 2024. There may be more around the city centre, or even around the city itself, I only know of another one outside the city centre, and that one is in Tyseley, but I think that one may have been acquired from a different location.
