The City of Lichfield
Lichfield has more to offer than just a Cathedral.
It had 'City' status granted in 1553.

I have visited Lichfield on many occasions over the years, but have never really stopped to look around. I planned my first visit of this particular year (2018) a week or so before travelling, compiling a list of the places I wanted to visit, I thought that I'd have plenty of time to take in all the sites in one day - how wrong was I? A couple of weeks later I decided to visit again to take in all the sites that I'd missed first time, so off I went with my list - and guess what? I will return one day to see the sites that I missed on the first and second visits.

Lichfield City Train Station - There are 2 railway stations in Lichfield, this was one, and Lichfield Trent Valley being the other one. I travelled from Birmingham New Street Station to this one, a journey of approx 30 minutes. Image Date: 02/07/2018
Railway Bridge With A Coat of Arms - Turn left as you leave the station and a couple of minutes walk will take you to this bridge with its brightly coloured symbol of the English Civil War. There is more artwork on the other side of the bridge. Located close to the junction of Saint John Street and Birmingham Road. Image Date: 24/07/2018
Railway Bridge With A Coat of Arms - Lichfield Brewery is on the left, and what was one of their pubs is on the right, it was called the Bridge Tavern but is now a 'micro pub' called Bitter Suite, specialising in Real Ales and Traditional Cider.
