Minories, originally a road that connected Bull Street to Old Square, it sits on land that was once part of the Medieval Priory of St Thomas the Apostle (often referred to as St Thomas of Canterbury). Lewis’s department store had buildings on both sides of Minories, in the 1920’s a bridge was built to connect the two buildings.
The view is from Bull Street; Old Square can be seen in the distance in the upper image.
